Day 07 - 2nd day filming
I was told the night before, our script is 'telling' and not 'showing' by our lecturer. I could not quite understand. So Tina somehow gotten rid of the flashback effect and placed the scenes in a more different sequence. Frustrating is i still do not understand what our lecturer meant 'telling' and not 'showing'.
Here are the behind the scenes shots.

We also helped our talents to take note of where they should stand by placing tapes on floor to guide them.

After lunch, we continued to film. However, disaster happened. Our lion talent fell down into a small drain because he could not see where he was going. The mask was killing him. He had many many scratches on his both legs and also some injuries on his both hands. Even though all this happened, he seems fine, smiling and still quite willing to continue helping in the filming. We felt so bad for him. Guilty consicence abrupted in us.

So the most we can do was to provide plasters and also cut the mask a few opening holes for him to be able to see.

Why didn't you ask what's 'telling' and 'showing' earlier? Telling means using your characters to tell the story. Eg in your story, the true good character of the lion figure is told by chicken. Chicken tells his friends what Lion had done previously. This is passive storytelling. A more effective way of storytelling is to actually show Lion as the victim of stereotyping and then show Lion in various situations that eventually disbunks the misconception. Is this clear now? Please ask if still not clear. Don't just bumble along lah.
